| TM Batch Scanning
The TM Batch Scanning software can be used in conjunction with theTradeMaster scan packing software and a Portable Data Terminal (PDT) to provide batch (or off-line) scan packing of products. We call this process TM Batch Scanning.
TradeMaster receives purchase order data either directly from an EDI system or from an in-house order/entry package. TradeMaster then validates the purchase order data and creates pack lists. Each pack list contains a list of products to be packed against a particular order.
The TM Batch software then allows you to select ‘batches’ of pack lists to be downloaded to a PDT, which has been placed in a cradle attached to the PC running the TM Batch software.
Once the PDT has downloaded the pack list data, it may be removed from its cradle and taken to the packing area to begin scan packing.
Another PDT may then be placed in the cradle and another ‘batch’ of pack lists downloaded to it.
At the completion of scan packing the PDT is returned to the cradle where the results of the packing process are uploaded to the TM Batch software.
The TM Batch software then updates the TradeMaster database and prints out the Shipping Container Mark (SCM) labels for each carton.
The TradeMaster system is then used to close off consignments and print consignment notes, invoices and packing notes. TradeMaster also generates the Advance Ship Notice (ASN) data for transmission to those customers that require it.
